Can I queue ten files on the free path?

No. Free is one eligible file at a time. Multi-file queues use Pro workers.

Do I pick a different preset per file in a batch?

Treat a queue as one preset. Split outliers into a second job if a couple of scans need Maximum and the rest need Light.

Why not run batch in the browser?

Ghostscript on many large scans will freeze a laptop tab. Dedicated VPS workers exist for that load.

Will you OCR the folder?

No. This tool only compresses. Searchable text is a different product.

How should I handle passwords in a stack?

Unlock files you are authorized to open, then queue. Mixed locked and open PDFs make noisy failures.

Is Lemon Squeezy the upgrade path?

Yes for Pro capacity — higher limits and folder-scale workers.

When a queue is the right tool

Batch is for the same preset applied across many similar files — a stack of similar scans, a folder of similar reports. Mixing a 2 MB text PDF with a 90 MB photo packet in one job is a bad idea; group by type. Encrypted files need Unlock first or the worker will fail that item.

Free vs queue

One file, under 12 MB, any of the three presets: free. Several files, or files that need Pro size limits: queue on dedicated VPS so Edge handlers do not time out.

Pick one preset for the folder

Do not Maximum a legal archive “just in case.” Apply Light or Balanced to the whole set, spot-check two files, then re-queue outliers. Inconsistent source DPI is why some pages look fine and others look crushed.

After the ZIP or files return

Confirm sizes and open a random page. Then merge if you need one packet, or leave them as a folder for accounting.
