Will I get real text boxes I can edit in PowerPoint?

If the PDF had a text layer you can highlight in a viewer, recovery can produce objects you can edit. Designed one-pagers and scans often become a picture on the slide. Proof the densest slide. If you still have the original .pptx, open that instead of reconstructing a printout.

Do speaker notes come back from the PDF?

Almost never. PDF rarely carries presenter notes. They will not magically appear in PowerPoint. Type notes after you like the slide order. If notes mattered, they needed to live in the original deck, not in a flattened handout. Title slides never prove the notes layer either.

Is converting a photo-scanned “deck” included in the free path?

No. Image-only OCR is Pro because it is a model guessing characters, not a digital extract. Confirm you can select text before you use this hub. A whiteboard photo saved as PDF is still a picture, and OCR will not make it a beautiful template.

The PDF is passworded. Can the converter open it anyway?

Unlock first. We cannot rebuild slides we cannot read. After unlock, choose .pptx unless the room truly needs .ppt. Putting a new password on the deck after convert is a separate protect step. Proof two busy slides before you walk on stage.

When should I export legacy .ppt for a 2010 projector closet?

When the room is actually stuck on old PowerPoint. Prefer .pptx otherwise. Legacy containers carry old bugs around SmartArt, media, and fonts. Proof on the machine that will present, not only on your laptop. Do not export .ppt “just in case” if the room can open the modern file.

What if the PDF is a 200-page report I was told to “turn into slides”?

You get 200 slides unless you split first. That is usually the wrong talk. Extract the pages that are actually slides, or split the PDF, then convert. Nobody wants a textbook in slide sorter with no animations to hide the length.
