Does isolation happen on Convertify4u servers?

No for this Instant path. The still is decoded in the browser, the model runs in WASM, and you download from the same tab. Closing the page drops the working copy. That is the privacy claim — not a marketing synonym for “we might upload later.”

Which file types can I drop without converting first?

JPEG, PNG, WebP, and typical iPhone HEIC decode here. Animated GIF, TIFF, BMP, AVIF, and SVG are turned into a still raster first, which can flatten animation and vector sharpness. If a picker rejects a file, convert to PNG, then retry. Details live on the formats spoke.

Why is the export a PNG instead of a JPEG?

JPEG has no alpha. A checkerboard composite needs a real transparent channel. Use PNG (or flatten later with PNG to JPG) when a portal forbids alpha. Heavy transparent files are a compressor problem, not a mask problem.

Will this replace a retoucher for hair and jewelry?

Not for campaign stills. Flyaways, hoop earrings, and water bottles with condensation still leak. Treat the download as a first mask. Paint holes in any editor that understands layers. Studio catalogs should keep a human pass.

How do I pick a spoke instead of this hub?

Can I scale or slim the cutout afterward?

Is there a watermark on the download?

No Convertify4u stamp on the PNG. If you see a checkerboard, that is alpha, not a brand overlay. Flatten onto a solid color in your layout tool if a client cannot preview transparency.

What should I do when the mask eats the subject?

Increase contrast: stand farther from a busy wall, turn off matching-color clothing against matching paint, avoid motion blur. A second, tighter crop before isolation often helps. We do not offer a manual-brush mode on this page.

A cutout is a compositing job, not a synonym list. You want the person, bottle, or mark on a checkerboard so you can drop it onto a listing, a slide, or a Story. This hub is the general tool: one file, local WASM, export with alpha. Specialized pages exist because hair, packaging, ink logos, and ICAO-style IDs fail in different ways — open those when the subject type is already known. Honest limits matter. Glass, motion blur, and a subject that matches the wall still confuse models. Fine flyaways and mesh fabrics often need a second pass in a paint tool. We do not claim studio retouching. What we do claim is privacy: pixels are decoded and inferred on your machine, then you download. Nothing is queued on a Convertify4u farm for this Instant path. After the mask, dimensions and bytes are separate problems. Shopify grids want squares; email portals want kilobyte caps; print wants DPI. Use Image Resizer when the pixel box is wrong. Use Image Compressor when the box is right but the PNG is heavy. Flatten to JPEG only when a form forbids transparency.

When a general cutout is enough — and when a spoke is smarter

Start here if you have a mixed folder: a selfie, a SKU, a scanned stamp. The same pipeline isolates the foreground. If every file is a headshot, the portrait spoke talks about glasses glare and collar edges. If every file is a bottle on a table, the product spoke covers Amazon main-image white and ghost-mannequin habits. Logos want hard corners, not soft hair mattes. Passport rules want a plain field, not a lifestyle cafe. Pick the spoke that matches the failure mode you actually hit. Formats: JPEG photos, PNG graphics, WebP from the web, and iPhone HEIC decode in-browser. GIF, TIFF, BMP, AVIF, and SVG are rasterized first — see the formats page. Export is usually PNG so alpha survives. Pair with Crop Image when the subject sits in a corner after isolation.
