JPEG is for pictures, not glass logos
If the PNG is a logo with a see-through canvas, flattening onto white is correct only when the site background is white. Dark themes will show a white box. Keep PNG for UI chrome; use this hub for photographs and screenshots of photographs.
Core Web Vitals vs brand marks
Hero photos almost always want JPEG. Icons and wordmarks almost always want PNG. Do not “optimize” a logo by destroying its edges.
Free versus folder
One still on Edge is free. A catalog dump uses VPS. We flatten every alpha the same way so a batch does not surprise you with black boxes.
After convert
If the JPEG is still too heavy, compress. If you needed the reverse, JPG to PNG will not restore alpha you flattened here.
