Does the still upload to Convertify4u?

Not on this Instant Canvas path. Decode, draw, download. Closing the tab drops the working bitmap. If another product is labeled cloud, that product will say so.

Resize versus compress — which first?

Wrong width/height → this tool first. Correct box, heavy file → Image Compressor. Encoding a 6000px still “a little” still leaves a large file and can smear overlays. Crop empty canvas before either step.

What is the difference between a scaler and this hub?

Same job: change pixel count. We draw with high-quality smoothing when shrinking. Enlarging cannot recover a soft master — that is a different promise (Image Enlarger) with the same physical limit.

Which types can I drop?

JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF. HEIC may need a convert depending on the browser — JPG spoke. SVG is a vector; rasterize at the size you need or use the PNG spoke after export from Figma.

Can I type any custom size?

Integers up to 10,000 per side. See by-pixels for aspect-lock behavior. Preset pages exist for common marketing boxes so you do not mistype 1920×1080.

Will upscaling a small still look sharp?

It will be larger. It will not grow real detail. Prefer the largest optical master. Downsampling a 24 MP still to 1080 looks far better than inflating a screenshot.

Do I need an account?

Not for eligible everyday Instant jobs. There is no watermark. Device memory still limits enormous files. The free spoke is that briefing without a template FAQ.

Where are 1080×1080 and other presets?

Under /tools/resize-image-to/{width}x{height}. This hub is free-form. The social and website spokes explain when to pick which box.

Resizing is geometry. Compression is quantization. If Instagram will crop a 16:9 still into a square, no quality slider will save the edges of the frame — you needed 1080×1080 (or 4:5) first. If Gmail rejects a 1080 square because it is a 15 MB PNG photo, that is bytes — Image Compressor after the box is locked. This hub is the general Canvas tool: drop JPEG, PNG, WebP, or GIF, lock or unlock aspect, export. Specialized pages exist because social ratios, print DPI, PNG alpha, and bulk loops fail in different ways. Dimension presets (1920×1080, 1080×1080, 1080×1920, 1200×628) live under /tools/resize-image-to/ — use those when a spec sheet already printed the integers. Upscaling a 400px selfie to a poster does not restore pores. imageSmoothingQuality high helps when shrinking. Max 10,000 px per side. Huge panoramas may hitch on a phone. Keep the original until you like the preview at 100% on the screen that matters.

When to change pixels versus when to encode

A pixel box is a contract with the destination

App Store screenshots, IAB ads, Story safe zones, and government forms publish integers. “About 1200 wide” is how faces get clipped. This hub plus the by-pixels spoke are for typing those integers. Social, website, and print spokes translate the usual contracts into plain language.

Canvas stays on the device

HTML5 Canvas draws the new bitmap in this tab. Instant means no Convertify4u upload. That is why NDA stills, HR headshots, and unpublished packaging can use a browser tool. Close the tab; the working copy is gone. Your downloads folder is the archive.

Format notes without a synonym dump

JPEG photographs, PNG graphics (keep PNG if you need holes), WebP from modern sites, GIF stills (animation is not a video editor). iPhone HEIC often needs a convert to JPEG or PNG before Canvas in some browsers — see the JPG spoke. After a correct box, encode if a portal still nags about kilobytes.
