Why is the recovered DOCX full of text boxes instead of normal paragraphs?

The PDF was already a designed layout, not a Word-authored file. We recover what we can. Simplify in Word: turn on show-marks, pull body copy into styles, and delete leftover frames. A magazine will never become a clean template without that pass. If you still have the original .docx, use it.

Is a feeder scan of a contract included in the free convert?

No. OCR is Pro. Digital text PDFs are the free path. Confirm you can highlight words in a viewer. A phone photo of a letter is pixels. Even after OCR, names and numbers need a human read — it is not a certified transcript.

The PDF is passworded. Can Word recovery open it anyway?

Unlock first. We cannot extract a text layer we cannot read. After convert, protect the DOCX again if policy wants a lock. Order of operations: unlock, convert, proof, then lock. A passworded file is not a “secure convert”; it is unread bytes.

Will PDF comments and markup survive in the Word file?

Do not count on them. Body text is the goal. Sticky notes, stamps, and review markup often vanish. If comments were the deliverable, keep the PDF and work in a tool that understands that layer. Track changes after recovery, in Word, on the new file.

Can I upload the DOCX to Google Docs after this convert?
