Gallery-scale web uploads, honest hardware
One-file converters collapse when a shoot fills a directory. This spoke is volume: ecommerce catalogs, travel series, listing packs, agency handoffs. The decoder is still in-browser. There is no metered remote queue pretending to be “unlimited.” Device RAM is the cap. Split enormous jobs. Close extra tabs. Encode overnight on a plugged-in laptop if the folder is a full wedding-plus-details dump. Spot-check a hero at 100% before you encode 400 SKUs at an aggressive slider. A muddy batch is expensive to redo. Keep the HEIC masters until the live site looks right. Names should stay recognizable so your importer maps SKUs without a spreadsheet of mystery IMG_1234_converted.webp files. Single stills: hub. Documents after batch: PDF tool. Lossless masters: PNG. Stay here when the destination is a CDN sync or a store importer that wants WebP.
