The phone already has a browser. Use it.
App Store “HEIC converter” listings are crowded with ads, tracking, and photo-library permission grabs for a job that is one export. This spoke is the no-install path: responsive UI, camera-roll picker, JPEG out. On iPhone, Safari can read Photos. On Android, Chrome can pick a .heic that arrived by mail, Drive, or a messy AirDrop-adjacent share. Cellular is fine for one still. It is a bad idea for a wedding dump. Keep the tab in the foreground until the file lands in Downloads or Files. If the phone is low on RAM, close other tabs. Eligible singles remain free without typing an email on a six-inch keyboard. This is not the iPhone-history essay (that spoke explains High Efficiency). This is not the Windows codec essay. It is “I am not at a desk and the recipient cannot open .heic.” Instant-labeled PDF tools elsewhere on the site never upload; this JPEG path uses Edge for eligible singles, so treat it as a short HTTPS hop, then auto-delete.

Stable connection, tab stays open, one file on LTE. Charge the phone if you are encoding a large still from a Pro camera.
When to sit down at a laptop
Folder queues, fussy review, or Pro VPS batch. Phones timeout and overheat; dedicated workers do not.
