Do I need the Convertify4u iOS or Android app?

There is no required native crop app for this flow. Safari and Chrome run the same Canvas editor. If you add the site to your Home Screen, you still get a web page, not a secret binary.

Why is my iPhone photo blank or rejected?

HEIC. Convert to JPG or PNG, or set Camera to Most Compatible so new shots are JPEG. Then pick the raster. Some iOS versions offer a “Automatic” conversion in the share sheet — use it if the picker still fails.

Can I pinch to zoom the crop handles?

You can pinch-zoom the page to make handles larger, then place the box. True two-finger crop gestures inside the canvas depend on the control; if it feels fiddly, rotate to landscape or finish on a tablet.

Where does the download go on iPhone?

Usually Files / Downloads, or a share sheet into Photos depending on Safari settings. If you cannot find it, search Recents in Files. Android Chrome typically lands in the Downloads folder.

Is it safe to crop ID or family photos on a phone browser?

The Instant path keeps the still on-device, which is the point versus an upload-first app. Still lock the phone, skip random “optimizer” APKs, and prefer HTTPS. Public Wi-Fi is a device risk, not a Convertify4u album — but be sensible.

When should I switch to a laptop?

Passport millimetres, 1-pixel ad specs, and 200-file catalogs. Use the phone for composition in the moment; use a pointer and a folder for production.

Camera-roll framing that is still a web page

Phones already crop. They also hide HEIC, fight upload caps, and offer only a few named ratios. This spoke is crop image mobile in the useful sense: Safari on iPhone, Chrome on Android, same Instant Canvas as desktop, no App Store or Play listing. Open the URL, grant the file picker, choose a still. iOS often hands HEIC to the web; many browsers will not paint it. Convert HEIC to JPG or PNG first (or set the phone to Most Compatible JPEGs if you do this daily), then return. Pinch-zoom the page if handles feel tiny; landscape orientation on a phone gives you more room to place a face. Save the export to Files or Photos, then share to Instagram, WhatsApp, or email. Framing on-device before you send is how you avoid uploading a 12 MP original over cellular just so a chat app can crush it anyway. iPads follow the same Safari path with kinder handles. If memory pressure kills a huge panorama, trim a smaller JPEG or do numeric work on a laptop. Privacy matches desktop: the Instant path does not park the camera roll on Convertify4u. Touch is less precise than a mouse — for passport millimetres or 1-pixel ad specs, hop to desktop after you did the rough frame on the train.

If the preview is blank, the still is probably HEIC. Convert, then pick the JPG/PNG. Grant Photos access if the OS asks — that permission is local, not an account with us.

Download to Files or Photos. Post or attach that export. You just avoided sending hallway pixels over LTE. Compress further only if a chat cap still fails.
