The blocker is the device, not the theory of WebP
You already know sites like WebP. The pain is practical: a Pixel that received an iPhone photo, a Windows laptop nagging for HEIF, a Linux box, converting on the iPhone before you transfer. This spoke is cross-device access. One URL. Local processing. No codec pack. Phones are fine for a few files. Desktop is kinder for catalogs. If Safari on iOS nags about storage, free space before you encode — WebP is smaller than TIFF but still larger than a chat JPEG. Keep the tab in the foreground until Downloads shows the file. Then use Files or the share sheet to get it into the CMS app. Hub is general. Apple-to-web story is the iPhone spoke. Free/no-signup is its own page. PNG/JPEG/PDF when WebP is wrong. Linux users can skip the “install HEIF libraries” rabbit hole entirely.
