Is Crop canvas the same page as Crop Image?

No. Crop Image (/crop-image) is the topic hub and spoke index. Crop canvas (/tools/crop-image) is this workspace: the dropzone, handles, and five presets. Use the hub to choose a guide; use this page to drag the box.

Does cropping upload my photo?

No. Decode, the crop overlay, and the export canvas run in the browser. There is no Convertify4u retention clock because there is no upload on this path.

Can I type width and height in pixels here?

Not on this canvas. Lock an aspect or freeform-drag. Exact pixel boxes are /crop-image-by-pixels.

Does this page cover every Instagram size?

Only the presets on the toolbar (including 1:1 and 4:5). Stories, Reels, and other network slots are /crop-image-for-instagram.

Why was my HEIC rejected?

HEIC is not a native dropzone type here. Convert to PNG or JPG on Convertify4u, then drop the raster on this canvas.

Crop canvas is Convertify4u’s on-device crop box. It exists so “drag the handles and export” has one URL, while /crop-image remains the cluster hub. This article is the control surface: freeform versus locked aspect, the five presets on the toolbar, and the fact that export keeps JPEG, PNG, or WebP. It is not a second crop-image guide and not the square, pixels, or Instagram spokes.

What this canvas actually does

Freeform versus a locked ratio

Freeform lets you pull any rectangle. The other four presets lock aspect so the box cannot skew. Switching a preset recenters a 90% box on the current image. That is a react-image-crop handle job, not a width×height form — numeric sizes are the pixels spoke.

Freeform (no ratio). Square 1:1 labeled Instagram Post. Portrait 4:5 labeled Instagram Portrait. Landscape 16:9 labeled YouTube Thumbnail. Facebook Post at 1.91:1. This page does not add Stories 9:16, LinkedIn banners, or TikTok slots — those belong on the Instagram and social spoke.

JPEG stays JPEG, PNG stays PNG, WebP stays WebP. A second JPEG encode can add artifacts; graphics are safer as PNG. The crop discards pixels outside the box. It does not resize to a listed pixel pair and does not compress for a kilobyte cap.

Exact width and height

If a CMS lists 1080×1080 or 1920×1080, use Crop by Pixels (and Image Resizer if you still need scale after the box).

Passport and marketplace checklists

Headroom, chin, and SKU margins are spokes. This canvas will not measure millimeters or Amazon padding.
