Can I do this in iPhone Safari without the App Store?

Yes. Convert HEIC if needed, keep the tab open, download to Files. iOS may ask where to save.

How does Android Chrome differ?

File pickers and Downloads folders differ by OEM. The interpolator is the same. Grant photo permission if Chrome asks.

Will it work after I go offline?

After the page and scripts have loaded, Canvas does not need Convertify4u. A hard refresh while offline will fail until you reload on a network.

Why did my phone tab die?

Memory. Crop first, close other apps, or use a computer. The 10,000 px cap is an upper bound, not a promise every handset can reach.

Phones can scale — until RAM and HEIC get in the way

Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android run the same HTML5 Canvas interpolator as desktop. That is convenient in a parking lot when a marketplace wants more pixels. It is painful when the original is a 12 MP HEIC the browser cannot decode: convert to JPG or PNG first (the linked HEIC tools), then scale. Animated GIF frames and 256-color palettes are not this workflow. Optional sharpen helps slightly soft phone shots; it will not fix handshake blur. Cap 10,000 px per side — a phone will often run out of memory before you hit the cap. If the tab reloads or the page whites out, finish on a laptop. Files stay on-device; we do not create a Convertify4u album. Save to Photos or Downloads, then compress if WhatsApp still crushes the attachment. Desktop users on Windows, macOS, or Linux use the identical URL — handy when you started on the phone and want a bigger screen for 100% QA.
