Image Enlargement Guide

Enlarge Product Images — Amazon, Shopify & Web Catalogs

Marketplaces flag short sides and punish mushy zoom. Scale listing shots on-device after you clean the frame — not in a cloud AI farm.

Listing floors are pixels; zoom quality is still the capture

Amazon-style main images often want at least 1600 px on the longest side so zoom works. Shopify themes vary; many look crisp at 2048 on the long side. A 900 px phone snap will pass a “minimum 1000” warning after a 2× Canvas pass and still look soft when a shopper pinch-zooms fabric. Growing pixels helps when you are slightly under a published floor. It hurts when you try to fake a studio capture from a warehouse snapshot. Crop or remove backgrounds first so you are not enlarging seamless paper you will knock out anyway. White-background rules still apply after scale — interpolation can introduce gray fringes; inspect edges. Jewelry and fabric need a real capture; a 2× pass will not weave threads that were one pixel wide. Convert HEIC product shoots first. Progressive 2× plus light sharpen; stop before halos on jewelry. Cap 10,000 px — far above typical PDP needs. Compress per channel after you lock pixels because Amazon and Shopify also enforce megabyte caps. Keep a color-accurate master. This Instant path never uploads SKUs to Convertify4u.

How it works

  1. 1

    Prep listing masters

Crop, clean, or remove backgrounds first. Load JPG, PNG, or WebP into the scale pass.

  2. 2

    Match the channel’s pixel floor

Uniform scale to the longest-side recommendation. Check 100% zoom on labels and stitching.

  3. 3

    Export variants, then compress

One large master, then compress copies for each storefront cap.

Use cases

Amazon main images

Clear the zoom-enabled side length. Keep the subject 85%+ of the frame per typical marketplace guidance.

Shopify PDPs

Collection grids and zoom. Theme max width is not the same as a thumbnail — export the large version.

Brand sites and portfolios

Hero product shots and lookbooks that must survive retina layouts.

SKU packs after a shoot day

Same recipe across the set — see the batch spoke for queue habits.

Problems we solve

Low-resolution listing warnings

Clear the number. If zoom still looks mushy, reshoot; do not keep stacking 2×.

Zooming shows mush

Progressive scale plus light sharpen helps a bit. Tiny sources still limit PDP zoom.

Phone HEIC from the warehouse

Convert HEIC, then scale a browser raster. Do not email HEIC to the enlarger and hope.

Trust, speed & privacy

SKU files stay local

Unreleased products never hit Convertify4u disks on this path.

Fast catalog iteration

Seconds per SKU on a laptop. Spot-check before a 200-file queue.

Any modern browser

Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Linux. Pack shots with fine type prefer a desktop screen for QA.
