Carousel Maker Guide

AI Carousel Maker — cover-fit, not a generative model

If you need Midjourney-class frames or a GPT that writes ten LinkedIn cards, that is a different product. If you need your photographs sliced into a ZIP without uploading them to that product, you are in the right tab.

Name the automation so we can stop lying about it

What “smart” actually is in this codebase

Photos use object-fit: cover, so they fill the pane without stretching. You drag to set object-position (focusX/focusY). Slide count is a number you type with plus/minus. html2canvas slices the strip. JSZip packs files. Default collage maps (in the other mode) are a lookup by image count — authored CSS, not a network that “understands” a birthday. None of that is a large language model or a diffusion model. Calling it AI in the URL matches how people search. The body of this page exists to retire the hallucination that we generate Instagram carousels from a sentence.

A honest workflow if you do use generative tools

Generate stills wherever you are allowed to. Download them. Convert weird formats. Drop them here as if they were camera files. Pan so faces the model almost got sit in the safe center. Export ZIP. You still own the rights conversation for generated media; we will not launder that. Bulk “ten product carousels from a CSV” is not a feature — repeat the drop for each SKU or use a real PIM. Auto layout suggestions beyond cover-fit do not exist; if a competitor shows a magic arrange button, ask whether it uploaded the shoot to do it.

Why local still wins next to AI SaaS

Most prompt-to-carousel products require an account and a copy of your brand photos “to learn the look.” This filmstrip does not need that copy. Pair them: generate public-safe textures in a model, keep customer-confidential photography in this tab, combine only on your disk. That hybrid is the grown-up version of “AI carousel maker,” and it does not require us to pretend Canvas is a foundation model.

  1. 1

    Bring pictures, generated or shot

This step is you. The studio will not sketch a slide from “make a fintech carousel.”

  2. 2

    Cover-fit and pan

That is the assistance: fill the box, choose the crop. No composition network.

  3. 3

ZIP and take it to a real publisher

Including PDF if LinkedIn documents are the surface. Still not generated.

Use cases

Confidential photography + public generated textures

Keep the customer’s factory shots local; generate decorative stills elsewhere; combine on disk.

Quick cover-fit of a model’s outputs

When the generator emits odd aspect ratios, this pane crops them to 1:1 or 4:5.

People who searched AI and needed privacy

A landing place that tells the truth and still finishes the ZIP.

Rejecting upload-to-train editors

Same stills, no extra model vendor holding the campaign.

Problems we solve

Prompt-shaped expectations

If the brief is “write and illustrate ten slides,” stop. Open a generative suite. Come back with PNGs if you still want a local ZIP.

Generic model looks

Cover-fit will not add brand taste. Your references and your camera will.

Bulk-from-spreadsheet dreams

We will not mail-merge 200 SKUs. That is a PIM or a script you run, not this UI.

Trust & technology

No generative pipeline

We will not quietly send pixels to a model “for layout.”

Inspectable assistance

Cover-fit and pan are CSS. View source in the component if you must.

Same ZIP as every other spoke

AI in the slug does not unlock a secret exporter.
