There is no rented library of headline cards. The layouts you may have seen on a collage, a 2x2, a 3x3, rows, and circle, heart, or diamond masks, belong to single mode. Carousel mode hides that strip on purpose, because every slide has to be the same size. That sameness is the template. Next week you open the same frame, the same count, and new photos, and the set still feels like one series.
The frames are concrete. A square is 1080 by 1080. A portrait is 1080 by 1350. A wide frame is 1920 by 1080. Instagram feed posts are comfortable in the square or the portrait. The wide frame is there when the destination is a landscape screen. This studio does not offer a 9:16 story preset, so a story cover is a different crop after you export, or a different page.
You need at least two slides and you can go up to sixteen. Sixteen images is the ceiling for the set. Add them in the order you want people to swipe. If a beat has to move, remove it and add the files again in the new order. Export JPG when a simple photo file is enough, or PNG when you want a PNG. The ZIP holds one file per slide, so the carousel you post is the set, not a single grid.
Treat the pair of choices as the house style. A product walk might always be five squares. A lesson might always be six portraits. Write that down in the brief you already keep, because the page does not save a named template to an account. The next set starts from the same two choices and the photos you bring. Gap, background, and the focus inside a slide are still yours to set before you export, and they show in the preview.
If one slide should itself be a grid of four photos, build that grid in collage mode, download the picture, and drop it in as a single carousel slide. The template is the frame you repeat
Three frames, and a count from 2 to 16
Square, portrait, and landscape are the choices, at 1080 by 1080, 1080 by 1350, and 1920 by 1080. Pick one and stay with it for the whole set, because the slides are sliced to the same size. Two slides is the shortest story. Sixteen is the longest this studio will pack. A feed carousel usually wants the square or the portrait. Use the wide frame when the place you will play the set is a 16:9 screen.
Order is the layout
The first photo is the cover people decide on. The last photo is the beat you hope they reach. Put proof in the middle: a detail, a face, a step. Add files in that order. There is no separate layer stack to drag. If the middle beat is wrong, rebuild the order and export again. The ZIP names the slides as a set you can upload together.
A grid is a different template
Collage mode is where a 2x2, a 3x3, rows, and the shape masks live. Those make one picture. If a carousel slide needs that picture, export the collage first and add the file as one slide. The carousel ZIP will still be equal slices. You keep both skills, and you use each one for the job it actually finishes.
