A passport or visa still is a compliance document. Countries specify millimeters, pixels, color of the field (often white or light blue), expression, glasses, and how much head fills the frame. This tool is not an embassy. We do not certify ICAO compliance. We do isolate the person so you can composite a plain field and crop to the published box — then you still measure.
Why transparency first: one master, many country colors. The UK, US, Schengen, and India do not always share the same RGB. Preview a solid behind the cutout to see whether ears and hair still read. Background Blur is a creative effect and is wrong for IDs — documents want a flat field, not a bokeh living room. A fuller “replace with a beach” compositor is not what you should use for a visa.
Privacy: identity photos on random clouds are a bad idea. WASM stays in the tab. Crop Image for the ratio (many US specs are 2×2 inches at 300 DPI → 600×600 pixels). Image Resizer if a portal lists exact pixels. Flatten to JPEG if the form forbids PNG. Recheck the official PDF the week you apply — rules move.

Compliance is a spec sheet, isolation is only the first cut
Typical pattern: recent photo, face forward, closed mouth or slight smile per country, no heavy filters, shoulders visible, head size within a percentage of the frame. Isolation removes a busy home wall that would fail automated checks. It cannot fix an under-exposed face, a cropped crown, or shadows that look like a beard. Lighting: even, front, no rim that the mask treats as sky. Glasses: many countries now ban them; check. Headwear: religious exceptions exist; decorative hats fail. Children: same isolation, harder expression rules. After PNG, composite the required color in a simple editor if our preview is not a full layout tool. Print shops still want you to verify DPI (300 is common for a 2×2 inch print).

Read the country’s pixel and color spec
Write down width, height, and field color. Isolation without the spec produces a pretty PNG that still fails the portal.

Judge hair against white or light blue. If the crown is missing, retake — do not stretch.
