How the Grim Reaper Knocking Door format actually works
Grim Reaper Knocking Door is a three-box still of Death at a door while someone inside reacts, used for incoming doom that is already polite enough to knock. Captioners label the reaper, the door, and the doomed resident, or the cause of death and the person hiding. It is appointment-comedy. The scythe and the wood are the UI. Unlike Grant Gustin's grave, the death has not happened; it is in the hallway. Put the incoming consequence on the reaper, the barrier on the door if you need it, and the target inside as whoever is pretending they are not home. Keep the 'death' metaphorical: a deadline, a bill, a parent, a patch. Short names. The humor is manners on doom (Death knocks). You do not need a fourth panel of the door opening. The knock is the whole plot. Specific appointments ('the 1:1') beat generic 'problems.'
