How the Gru's Plan format actually works
Gru's Plan is a four-panel desk scene from Despicable Me where the supervillain points at a flip chart, repeats the plan, and then stares in horror when the last board matches an earlier step that ruins him. Captioners noticed the third and fourth posters are the same twist. Four boxes exist to hold steps one, two, three, and the identical disaster restated. It is a self-own flowchart, not a ranking of intelligence. Write a plausible scheme in the first two boards, put the unintended consequence on the third, and repeat that consequence on the fourth so Gru's face can react. The duplicate text is mandatory; changing the last panel into a new idea breaks the animation of his shock. Keep each step to a short clause. The humor is watching someone present their own doom with a laser pointer and only noticing at the end.
