How the Surprised Pikachu format actually works
Surprised Pikachu is a screenshot of the Pokémon with a frozen O-face, used since 2018 for fake shock at an obvious outcome. Imgflip offers three boxes, so captioners often set the cause, the predictable result, and a silent third beat, or two lines plus a label on the yellow mouse. It is consequence comedy. The lightning-bolt tail is not the point; the open mouth is. Unlike Fry's genuine parse, Pikachu is performing surprise he should not feel. State the action that made the result inevitable, then the result, and let the face be the 'shocked' reaction. The humor is that nobody honest is shocked. Keep the cause/effect pair tight ('skipped tests' / 'prod down'). A third box can name the person pretending to be surprised. Do not write a mystery. The still only works if the audience saw it coming a mile away. On Convertify4u you caption 3 caption boxes in the same editor as the rest of the library, then download a clean JPG. Keep a master if you might animate frames later in GIF Maker.
