How the Two Buttons format actually works
Two Buttons, also called Daily Struggle, uses a comic panel of a sweating man hovering over a red button and a blue button while both options feel equally catastrophic. The stock illustration circulated on Reddit in the mid-2010s as a way to stage impossible choices without drawing new art. Imgflip's three-box version labels each button and then names the panicked decision-maker, which is why the template outlived one-off 'hard choice' macros that lacked a visible character. The comedy is the deadlock, not a winner. Label the left button and the right button with two duties, desires, or moral rules that cannot both be true, then use the third box for who is sweating or why the timer is running. Equal weight matters: if one button is obviously correct, the sweat stains look unearned. Short fragments on the buttons, longer identification on the bottom, matches how people scan the panel.
